Katie Pratt lives and works in London. Her paintings begin with a rapid gesture and form a systematic analysis of the splashes that are generated. They are a forum for her consideration of organisational, strategic and political structures.
Pratt received an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art. She won the Jerwood Painting Prize in 2001 and completed her AHRC Fellowship, Blind Faith, at the University of Southampton in 2005.
In 2014, her work has been exhibited in Los Angeles and will be shown in a solo exhibition in Germany. Other recent exhibitions include Doglegs, Chicanes & Beelines, Fine Art Society, London; Against Grids, Milk & Honey Gallery, Liverpool; Lasker, Heron, Pratt, John Hansard Gallery, Southampton.
